DEEP INSIGHT FROM NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASE TO NOTIFIABLE DISEASE [SNAKEBITE]

Speaker’s details:
1.   Dr. Ravikar Ralph currently serves as Professor & Head at the Poison Control Center, Department of Medicine, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. 
At CMC Vellore, he is primarily involved with the care of patients with poisonings and snakebites; medical training; and research. He also co-ordinates activities at the CMC Poisons Information Center, a national-level facility handling one of the largest volumes of poisoning and snakebite-related calls from across the country.
Dr. Ralph has helped shape many policy and programmatic initiatives on snakebite prevention and control at various national and international forums. He has authored key international policy publications on snakebite mitigation in south Asia and other resource-limited regions. At the regional level, he has served as member of two WHO- SEARO expert groups constituted to formulate regional strategies for snakebite prevention and control and is the lead author of the WHO-SEARO Regional Action Plan document for snakebite control, published in February 2022. He also serves as member of the WHO Global Roster of Experts and Technical Advisory Group on snakebite prevention and control and as Clinical and India Advisor to the Global Snake Bite Initiative (GSI), USA foundation.

The CME/Workshop was very informative which trained the Medical Officers, faculty members, Post graduates students & under graduates students in details regarding snake bite, its management & treatment.
The Speaker Dr.Karthik explained about new advancements in research on polyvalent anti snake venom which is taking place in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.  
The CME overall was successful in training the Delegates who participated giving in-depth knowledge on Snake Bite management & treatment.
