Day 1: Inauguration of PV week and Sensitization about medication safety to general public in OPD block, SSMC, Tumkur. They were made aware of adverse reactions and their detection and reporting
Day 2: Release of a Poem related to Pharmacovigilance and submission of PV related poster & video for NPC
- Faculty of department of Pharmacology had made a video with title “Patients safety is our prime priority” which was appreciated by many other colleges
- Faculties also submitted an animation video about drug safety awareness for a video competition held by Dayanand Sagar Medical college, Bangalore
- Students of 2nd MBBS had made a video about ADR reporting and patient’s role in Pharmacovigilance and submitted to AIIMS.
Day 3: Workshop at District hospital about PV for Nursing faculty and students by Dr Nandini T, Dr Indushree T, Dr Meghana D
Day 4: Participation as Panelist of a discussion by Dr Manjunath G N, Professor & Head, Pharmacology, SSMC regarding “Encouraging patients in ADR reporting “held at SSIMS, T. Begur
Day 5: Awareness program at Sri Siddhartha Dental college, Tumkur by Dr Swamy RM, Professor, Dept of Pharmacology for Dental faculty across various departments
Day 6 : An awareness skit and high school visit by Paramedical students creating awareness about self medication practices & its consequences
Day 7: Valedictory ceremony – felicitation of the participants & Release of “Pharmacovigilance News Letter”

Quality Team in association with Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Hospital conducted an awareness program on "International Patient safety Day" with a Theme by WHO “Medication without Harm” on September 17th 2022. Staff nurses participated in a poster competition explaining to patients regarding safe use of medicines.

Nutrition is an essential component in promoting and maintenance of health. This is highlighted among growing children and women and any initiative addressing the nutrition amongst these groups is appreciative. In order to emphasize, national nutrition week is observed during 1st week of September every year across every nation. In our college, under our rural health training center, Nagavalli a nutrition awareness programme had been organized in coordination with staff of Anganwadi workers and primary health center, Nagavalli. Anganwadi supervisor had been instructed to mobilize women to their centers. Dr.Venkatesh P, Professor, Dr. Rajesh SS, Associate Professor, Department of Community medicine, SSMC, Asst. CDPO, Tumkur, MSW Mr. Pradeep, Mr. Jagadeesh, Health supervisor & Public health nurse, PHC Nagavalli & Interns, participated in the programme.
The programme started with simple inauguration followed by an interactive knowledge sharing session from Dr. Venkatesh. He explained the significance of including variety of locally available vegetables and food crops; dispelled the myths and taboos regard to food choices prevalent among women. He also cautioned mothers about different packed foods that were easily accessible and diverting children away from nutritious home-made foods. Asst.CDPO Tumkur reiterated these messages along with thrust on various aspects of child feeding and schemes made available by the government. Anganwadi supervisor called upon women to share the contents and nutritive values of different foods being prepared and distribute it to the guest arrived. The importance of nutritious food and its variety was emphasized and conveyed to the audience who were listening in rapt attention. The question from the audience was suitably replied by the resource person. The supervisor concluded the programme with a closing remark. The crowd dispersed for lunch.

The Students Council of Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur organized "Teachers day and Onam" on 6th Sept 2022 in HM Gangadaraiah memorial hall. Faculties from all the departments excluding emergency department attended the program. Students of medical, dental and paramedical departments attended the program.
