Program Overview: The CME program featured presentations from faculty of Rheumatology Department of Manipal Hospital, covering various topics such as:

1. Rheumatoid Arthritis Pathogenesis (Dr Benzeeta Pinto):
• The complex interplay between genetic and environmental factors in initiating and perpetuating RA inflammation was discussed.
• The role of autoimmunity, synovial inflammation, and cytokine networks was explored.
2. Genetic Studies in Rheumatoid Arthritis (Dr Prashant Bafna):
• Recent advancements in identifying susceptibility genes and their potential role in disease development were presented.
• The potential for personalized medicine based on genetic profiling was also discussed.
3. Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity and Outcome Measures (Dr Veena Vishwanath):
• Practical tools and validated scoring systems for assessing disease activity and predicting disease course were reviewed.
• The importance of patient-reported outcomes in evaluating treatment efficacy was emphasized.

Conclusion:
This Rheumatology Update CME provided a comprehensive overview of current knowledge and advancements in the diagnosis and management of RA and other rheumatic conditions. The topics covered were relevant and practical, offering valuable insights for rheumatologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of these patients.

Department of Pediatric surgery ,SSMC along with Indian Academy of Pediatric surgery Karnataka state chapter conducted 18th Annual state conference from Dec1-3.

Day included inauguration was graced by our Vice Chancellor,Register,Vice Principal,National IAPS president ,Secratary ,State Chairman IAPS.

Scientific session included topics covering neonatology,Hematology,Pulmonology ,minimally invasive approach to pediatric surgery covering Pediatric and surgical perspectives .

Around 100 delegates attended the event

KMC Credit points were also obtained .

Workshop on Endoscopy and Semi live RIRS was held .

Event was successful one and was appreciated by delegates and national and state Presidents .
