- » All the participants appreciated the guest lectures and spoke about collaboration with dental college for further workshops
A Guest Lecture and Interactive Session by International Faculty ,Dr. Ashish L Shetty, was organized in the Seminar Hall of Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, on the subject ‘Chronic Pain Management and Neuromodulation’ on 25/08/2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Dr Ashish Shetty is a renowned Associate Professor at University College, London. He’s a Consultant Lead at National hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery And also well established Consultant at Cleveland Clinic.

- » Speakers were felicitated after all the sessions followed by prize distribution.
- » First, Second, Third prizes and consolation prize was given to students. All other participants were given participation certificates.
- » Models were displayed in Exp lab of pharmacology department, to which all delegates visited the department and appreciated the efforts of the students.
- » Lunch was arranged at department of Pharmacology to all delegates which everyone relished.

- » Model making competition was conducted as a part of celebration on occasion of ‘National Pharmacology Day’
- » Around 15 models were prepared by students in a team of 10 students which includes models of Hypertension, ACEinhibitors, nasal decongestants, teratogenicity, thyroid metabolism, antiemetics, peptic ulcer, HIV, adverse effects of corticosteroids, miotics and mydriatics etc.
- » Students explained their model and got compliments from the judges

- » The prizes of the competition was announced on 17th August. Prize winners got medals and certificate of appreciation and the rest of the students got certificate of participation.
- » The display of models continued till 17th august for which many delegates who had attended CME program also appreciated the efforts of the students.
India celebrates its 75th Independence Day as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotshav' 2022 to commemorate its freedom. We Indians celebrate our heroes and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation, to bring us the freedom, peace, and joy.
The month of August unfurled the patriotic feeling in one and all. On this occasion 5 day program was conducted in the campus.
Flags were distributed to the entire faculty to be hoisted at their residence. Campus was posted with banners of freedom fighters and videos were telecasted in the OPD. On 13th August 2022 Sri Siddhartha medical college, Para Medical sciences and Sri Siddhartha School & College of Nursing organized various competitions for the students to mark the occasion. Campus was lit with tricolor lights and flags all over.
Competitions like Rangoli, Drawing, Painting, Group singing, elocution, masquerade costume and Mini Video Biography of Freedom Fighters was rendered to the freedom fighters and soldiers who spend their lives separated from friends and family, in their service to our nation.
Students participated in huge numbers and prizes were distributed making the event most successful. Dr. Manjunath, Vice Principal, SSMC appreciated the students and congratulated them for their active participation.
On 15th August the program started at 08:00 A.M by hoisting the National Flag by our Honorable chancellor Dr.G.Parameshwara followed by patriotic speech with Principal Medical College, Principal Dental College.
Mr.T.R Revanna aged about 94 years was felicitated who had participated in Quit India movement and Rajyothsava prashasthi awardee in the year 2002, Dr.Ramesh Rao senior ENT surgeon and karnataka arogya mattu kutumba kalyana ilake ex-co-director was felicitated.
Covid warriors who dedicatedly worked during covid time risking their lives were also felicitated. Cultural activities like Group singing, solo singing and a group dance was organized by the Medical, Dental, Nursing and Para medical students. The program ended at 10:30 A.M followed by breakfast.
This year’s WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK OBSERVATION program was conducted by Pediatric department in collaboration with Sri Siddartha school and college of nursing , District health office –RCH and NGO-SAVE THE CHILDREN-BALRAKSHAK BHARATH on 06/08/2022 .Our department conducts BREASTFEEDING WEEK every year during first week of August .
Program started with Jatha (placards and banners displayed ) by Nursing students, medical students and pediatric department faculties( Dr Anand kumar T S, Dr Arun Kumar ,Dr Punith and Dr Pooja Govind) at around 8AM from IMA hall to City bus stand ,J C Road ,caltex circle and back to IMA hall . Welcome speech was given by NGO coordinator-Ms Jyothi .Cheif guest included – Dr Prabhakar, Vice principal SSMC,Dr Manjunath ,Vice principal-Academic SSMC, Dr Sanjay IMA President ,Tumkur branch , Dr.G V Kumar ,HOD pediatrics, RCH officer –Dr Keshav Raj and NGO zonal head- Chandrashekar . After inaguaration , , Dr Prabhakar, Vice principal SSMC, spoke few words regarding the importance breastfeeding and child nutrition . Dr.G V Kumar ,HOD pediatrics read out the breast feeding pledge for the gathering .
Chandrashekar, NGO zonal head gave the vote of thanks to all and program ended with refreshments .
