The Central Clinical Laboratory serves as the laboratory for Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Tumkur .The central laboratory acts as a reference laboratory for other local and regional medical facilities .Laboratory services are provided for patients of all ages,genders,ethnic backgrounds and religious affiliations. The clinical laboratory provides laboratory testing facilities for approved research protocols.

The Hematology lab equipped with fully automated 9 part Horiba Yumizen H500 hematology analyzer delivering safe hematology care. The instrument provides accurate results with new digital filtering technology with accurate measurement of RBC volume and distributions widths .Added advantage is large immature cell differentiation, flagging of RBC disorders, large platelets size flagging and malaria screening flags.

The Hematology laboratory also equipped with Operan XL1000C Fully Automated Coagulometer designed to do routine coagulation. Testing parameters includes PT, APTT,TT, Factors assay ,Protein c ,Protein S ,DDimer and Anti Thrombin.

The Biochemistry section is equipped with VITROS 5600 Integrated system which provides a comprehensive clinical chemistry ,infectious disease testing and immunoassay menu on a single integrated platform delivering high quality, productivity and value to our lab.

Biochemistry section also equipped with EC 90 Electrolyte analyzer employing cutting edge technology which takes laboratory electrolyte measurements to new heights.

The central laboratory has fully automated GH-900Plus HBA1c analyzer with HPLC Technology-Gold standard method of HBA1c detection. The GH-900 Plus generates results in 130 seconds with variant detection and high precision.

The Microbiology section is equipped with BD BACTEC FX400 Automated blood culture system-for rapid detection of bacteria in blood. It provides data management with enhanced blood culture observation in the laboratory helping to reduce workflow interruptions.
