Report of world population day 2022- poster competition

World Population Day 2022 is an event to mark the immensity of human population upon the natural resources on the earth. This years’ theme has been “A World of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all- Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all”. This indicates a call for resilient population coherent with the natural resources for harmonious living.

Observing this day, we from department of community medicine, SSMC, had organized a poster competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Students from Medical, Dental, Nursing and Paramedical studies were invited to participate. We received 29 students registration who participated with 17 posters which was coordinated by Dr.Venkatesh.P and Dr.Savitharani.B.B from Dept. of Community Medicine.

Four judges namely Dr.Suma, Professor , Department of General Medicine, Dr. Geetha, Professor, Dept of Pathology, Dr.Kavyashree, Professor, Dept. of Anatomy from Medical College and Ms.Ramai Vice-Principal, Nursing College, assessed the posters and assigned the marks. The total scores were computed and the results were announced. The results are as follows:
