UG Program

For Bachelor of Engineering, the admission to college is
through the entrance test, Common Entrance Test (CET)
conducted by Karnataka Government and Undergraduate Entrance
Test (UGET) conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering
and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK). The students with
meritorious ranking are considered for admissions. Also, the
students can take admission through university quota.

A Pass in 2nd PUC/12th Std/equivalent examination with Physics
and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with English as
one of the languages and obtained 45% of marks in aggregate in
Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects:
Chemistry/Biology/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics.
In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka SC/ST and other
backward classes (Category 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum
marks for eligibility will be 40% in aggregate in optional
subjects in qualifying examination.
Documents required
(The aspirants are required to submit along with the
application, the following documents in original and 4 set of
photocopies)
- CET admission order (For CET students)
- Marks card of 10th standard
- Marks card of 12th standard / PUC

Marks cards of all semesters of Diploma and provisional
diploma certificates (For Lateral entry)
- Transfer certificate/ College leaving certificate
- Migration certificate (For Non Karnataka students)

Income and caste certificates (If claiming CET seats under SC/
ST/ Cat-1/ OBC)

Study and conduct certificate (At least 7 years for urban
quota and 10 years for rural quota)
- Attested copy of address proof (Aadhar card/ Passport)
- Passport sized photographs – 5 Nos.
PG Program
For the Master of Technology program, admission to the college
is through the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET)
conducted by the Government of Karnataka. Students may also take
admission through the university quota.

Passed B.E./B.Tech examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks in the relevant field from any recognized university or
institution. A valid PGCET or GATE score is compulsory.

An A.M.I.E. qualification in the respective branch shall be
considered equivalent to B.E./B.Tech courses of VTU for
admission to the M.Tech program.

An equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian
Universities (AIU) is mandatory in the case of foreign
degrees.

For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Category-I, the
aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examination
shall not be less than 45%.

Candidates who have obtained their degree through distance
mode of education are not eligible under any quota, i.e.,
Government or Management.

Research Program
Admission to Ph.D. program shall be done after inviting
applications for entrance examination through notification
issued by the Registrar once a year on dates notified by the
Academy. The applicants will have to appear for the Ph.D.
Entrance Test followed by interview organized by the Academy.

The candidates shall possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering
/ Technology / Master of Computer Applications or equivalent
from the Academy or any other University recognized by it,
with a minimum CGPA of 6.25 out of 10 or 55% aggregate marks
at Bachelor’s Degree.

The candidates possessing Master’s Degree in Engineering /
Technology / Master of Computer Applications or equivalent
recognized by the university with outstanding merit, having
either a minimum CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 or 60% aggregate marks
and published research papers in refereed journals or
filed/obtained patents shall also be eligible for admission,
subject to approval by the admissions authority.

The candidates pursuing M.Sc.(Engg.) Degree by Research at the
Academy, who have successfully completed the prescribed
coursework in the first two semesters of study with
outstanding merit of either a minimum CGPA of 7.75 out of 10
or 70% aggregate marks and published research papers in
refereed journals or filed/obtained patents shall be eligible
for upgradation to the M.Sc.(Engg.) + Ph. D Integrated Dual
Degree programme, subject to approval by the admissions
authority.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent
relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to
SC/ST/differently-abled categories of candidates as per the
decision of the UGC from time to time.
